Amberly Says Goodbye To the Boys

I wasn't expecting it, but Amberly's elimination certainly isn't a shock. I mean, it's clearly the season of boys. It was only a matter of time. I thought we'd see Drew leave first. Or Mitch. But no, Amberly's "1234" just wasn't what voters wanted.

And apparently, she wasn't surprised by the results:

"I was told last week by Mark Day that you kind of just know when it's your time and today, you don't want to expect anything and still have confidence, but I think throughout the day, and if you asked everybody else, they kind of knew that I knew," said the 19-year-old competitor from Seven Persons, Alta., shortly after her elimination.

"I was really upset in the morning and I didn't really understand why ... it's like a feeling you get."

She also gives a refreshingly honest response to the suggestion that cute boys remain because of the primarily female voting audience.

"To be brutally honest, yeah. I think if you just look at the past few seasons it kind of proves that there's always cute boys at the end, which is cool. I think the girls going into this kind of know that and they expect that. And there's been girl winners, now there will be another guy winner," said Thiessen.

I'm sure we'll see much more of Amberly. Elimination doesn't have to mean the end. Just ask Jennifer Hudson or Chris Daughtry.
