Another Guest Mentor: Anne Murray

And then there were seven. And by the time we reach the Top 5, Anne Murray will be stopping by Idol to mentor our contestants as they tackle her songbook.

Murray has sold more than 50 million albums and has received multiple Grammy, JUNO, and Country Music Association Awards in her 40-year career.

With such beloved hits as "A Little Good News," "You Needed Me," "Love Song," "Could I Have This Dance" and "Snowbird," Murray is known worldwide for her signature voice and her career continues to be the benchmark for longevity and professionalism.

Her latest CD, Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends, was certified Platinum in three weeks and double Platinum in six weeks. It was her highest album debut in over 20 years. She also recently completed a coast to coast Canadian tour and plans to release a special holiday album at the end of September.

"We have been trying to land Anne Murray for years and we are thrilled to finally have her join us," said Canadian Idol Executive Producer John Brunton, in a prepared release. "She is a true Canadian superstar and it will be a tremendous honour to have her mentor this year's finalists."

Which of her songs would you like to hear sung? And by whom?
