Baseball + Elliott Yamin = Awesome Night

elliott yamin.jpg My all-time favorite American pasttime? Baseball. My all-time favorite American Idol? Elliott Yamin. So its fitting that the two will meet up on April 4th at Edison Field for the Angels' Opening Night. If you live in the LA area and find yourself without any pressing engagements that night, I highly recommend getting tickets and taking yourself out to the ballpark. I've been frequenting The Big A since I was a mere ankle-biter, and while the Angels aren't my favorite team by a longshot (Go, Oakland A's!!!), the sentimentality and nostalgia associated with summer night games and root beer floats always makes me smile.....nevermind that pesky little rat problem (the sewer rats in LA are legendary, dont let anyone tell you otherwise. I believe their scientific name is Rodentus Ghettous, and they're often confused with dachsunds and small children). The idea that Elliott's goosebump-inducing voice will usher in the 2008 season is almost more than I can stand! I'm seriously considering figuring out a way to put myself in town that night......hmmmmm......*wheels in head turning*.....

Anyway, for those of you lucky enough to go, please write and tell me how it went. I'll scour YouTube the day after, hoping someone snuck in a video camera to record HeartThrob Yamin's rendition of the National Anthem. *sigh* Take me out to the ballllllllllgame.........
