
There's this sense of pride and loyalty that dictates voting choices for some. Honestly, I rarely notice where contestants are from. Someone could be based in the apartment next to me, but I won't vote for him if he's not Theo.
But then I read this, and sort of understood why Mark Day's still around.
The Mayor of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's says residents are proud to have one of their own on this season of Canadian Idol. 20-year old Mark Day is in the Top 7 and will perform again tonight. Norm Collins says residents are behind Day all the way and are encouraging others in the province to hit the phone lines tonight.

And the National Post (as other outlets have done) has profiled Mookie, the last remaining Torontonian. You cannot make me feel guilty for not sticking with the hometown boy. Although I'd more likely vote for Mookie than the recently eliminated Sebastian, sex appeal or no.
