Last night, Chikezie found himself in the Bottom 3 along with Syesha and, in a slight crowd shocker, Dreadlock Castro. Castro's brief stint at the bottom included an annoyingly adorable babble about how he "just knew" he'd end up there, to which Ryan sent him back to safety with a huge sigh of relief, leaving Syesha vs Chikezie. I'll be the first to admit that Chikezie wasn't on point last night, but here's what bugs me about the Idol vote-offs (and has bugged me for years): you've got people like Kristy Lee Cook, or Sanjaya, or Bucky Covington, who end up staying on the show while more talented competitors (like Chikezie, last night) get sent home. I dont know if its votefortheworst.com succeeding in its mission, or if people just forget to vote for their fave, or if one bad performance really can seal someone's fate, but its frustrating to watch Kristy stay and Chikezie get the boot (not as frustrating as, say, being forced to watch an America's Most Stupidest Model marathon, but pretty damn close). And the thing is, I know this wont be the last time this season that someone gets sent packing while a lesser talent gets to stay. I can see it now, Kristy will make the Bottom 3 every week, but we will see people like Syesha, Ramiele, Michael Johns, Castro, Opie, etc, all get the boot while she stays, devilishly laughing in her dressing room with that horrible country twang of hers! Oh God, what a nightmare!!!!!

I'm a bit intrigued over all the chatter I'm hearing on the blogs about a supposed Wildcard competition. Little birdies are telling me that David Hernandez, Elvira Overmyer, and 3 others will compete for a chance to be this year's Wildcard Contestant (Chikezie, tho eliminated, would apparently be ineligible as he is already in the Top 10 and therefore secured a spot on the summer tour). Have you heard anything about this? My reliable and exceedingly professional journalistic sources (translation: TV Guide, a bunch of random blogs, and a group of very enthusiastic 13 yr old girls armed with the latest issues of Tiger Beat) are still in the act of providing me with info, so if you catch wind of any Wildcard updates, spill the beans here. I dont exactly pay for tips, but I do provide lengthy shout-outs and can offer my matchmaking services sans gratis! So, hit me with the info, folks! And stay tuned next week to find out if Kristy can manage to hang on for another week or if she'll finally join Chikezie in the Idol Rejects Housing Project. (Awww, that sounds so sad! A bunch of Wal-Mart clothed singers, holding up signs saying "Will Sing For Food", humming sadly to themselves, waiting for Oprah to come rescue them from poverty.....****)
