Mookie At Buskerfest

Just because he's gone from the competition doesn't mean that he's forgotten by his fans. Quite the contrary, as evidenced by the crowd who showed up for his performance at Buskerfest (St. Lawrence Market, Toronto) on Friday night.

Morris performed some songs he sang on Canadian Idol, including "Valerie" and "Twist & Shout," as well as some originals. He even sang a tune he wrote a year ago for his beloved guitar, which he smashed after his last performance on the Idol stage.

After his performance Morris signed autographs and took pictures with adoring fans.

He couldn't believe how many people came out just to see him.

"It was totally humbling and just the best experience possible to get right after Idol. It's just really heart-warming to come back to this city and see the people who have supported me in numbers in front of my face. It's cool," said Morris.

Morris said since leaving Idol he's been busy getting ready for upcoming shows, meeting people and seeing what's out there.

"I definitely miss (living in the Idol condo). I miss the guys, for sure. But I'm in the city so I'm still close," said Morris. "I'm totally cool and am really excited just for what's coming."
