More Hometown Pride: Drew and Theo

The warden of Simcoe County is urging local support for hometown boy Drew. And since he's been stepping up his game, it'll be interesting to see how far he makes it. I mean, he wasn't in the bottom, Theo was. So there's no knowing.

“I truly believe that the strength of Simcoe County is our people and this is a great example of that philosophy at work,” stated Warden Guergis. “Drew exemplifies the spirit of individuals who make this a great place. I congratulate him on his success and I encourage Simcoe County residents to support Drew as he continues his climb.”

Speaking of my man Theo, the University of Lethbridge Student Union is hosting a screening tonight (followed by a voting party, I'm sure) to make sure Tams stays safe. Last week's surprising results can't happen again.

Don’t let Theo Tams end up in the bottom three of Canadian Idol again! Tams, just one day after being told by judges he could win the competition, found himself with Mark Day and Earl Stevenson as the vote-getting bottom-feeders last Tuesday. Tams is in a unique position on Idol, competing for votes with a fellow southern Alberta singer, Amberly Thiessen who hails from Seven Persons, just west of Medicine Hat. He needs Lethbridge and area to step to the plate for him and vote. Callers hold the key to Tams’ Idol dreams, not the judges whose praise didn’t help him last week. The University of Lethbridge Students’ Union tonight will give another boost to Tams’ Idol aspirations by hosting a viewing of the episode at 8 p.m. on CTV Lethbridge when he and the other five remaining singers will perform Canadian hits. Canadian punk pop band Simple Plan will be the guest mentors.

Tune in to Idol tonight. And vote. Because if you don't vote, you can't complain.
