Twelve Down, Twelve To Go....

Good evening, Idol fans. I'm assuming you're currently getting ready for tonight's round of performances. I have to admit, last night's show, while full of solid numbers, didn't wow me. I tend to get my hopes up a little too high after the audition shows. Never fear, I'll adjust to the live-show episodes by next week. Promise.

If you missed last night, there's a thorough recap over at the official site here.

But my favorite observations come from a blog over at the Toronto Star:

Canadian Idol begins live performances

I thought it was pretty good, all things considered. I liked the guy with the guitar. And then there was the tall guy with the guitar. And the shorter guy with the guitar. And the guy who looked like a vegetarian. And that guy who played the guitar. I also think the guy with the guitar was okay. But, to quote Susie Diamond in the Fabulous Baker Boys: "I mean, does anybody really need to hear 'Feelings' again in their lifetime? It's like parsley, okay? Take it away, nobody's going to know the difference."

Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with guys with guitars....

Still too early for favorites, but I kind of heart Martin Kerr. Especially his attempt at the Canadian accent. FAR BETTER than Ben Mulroney's attempt at an English one.

Okay, now go watch TV....
